How does it Operate?

You simply attach your existing key or key bunches to one of the KeyWatcher colour coded electronic SmartKeys, place it inside the KeyWatcher cabinet and its really that simple! No Changes or additions to your existing keys or locks and no tools needed.

Each Smart Key has a steel shackle that locks your keys directly onto the electronic SmartKey tag, which then gives that key or key bunch its own unique identity. Optional security key rings or security seals are also available for attaching larger key bunches. Or for less secure applications you can use the new Quick Fit Smart-Key to save time and money. Ideal for car dealerships and motor vehicle fleets where keys are changed on a regular basis.

To remove keys from the KeyWatcher a basic user must firstly be authorised to have those keys for a specific time or date and may enter their unique User ID and PIN.

Alternatively the KeyWatcher system can be equipped with an optional access card reader or fingerprint reader to enhance the security of keys and user access. If your facility is already equipped with access control then a similar reader can be attached to the KeyWatcher and incorporated with your existing cards. User Access can be programmed to request a PIN only from authorised users or Card and PIN if dual technology is a preference for maximum security.

If the user authorisation criteria match, the KeyWatcher door will electronically open and the requested key or keys are illuminated on the internal key panel to easily identify the key's location. Keys are then electronically and individually released from their housing by a locking solenoid allowing the user to remove those keys only! Physical access to any other key(s) during this process is totally denied unless the user has been given the appropriate pre-authorisation to do so. KeyWatcher not only secures just keys! It also accommodates credit cards or access cards and other equipment such as mobile phones, two-way radios etc using special locking mechanisms and individually secured lockers.

Programming provides for control over keys for each individual not global access. For example, one person can be restricted from accessing Key-1 between 9-5 Monday to Friday whilst another user may be granted access to the same key 24-7. Keys can also be removed in groups, which allows a specific set of keys to be released simultaneously instead of requesting them individually. All users all keys can be assigned with or without time zone restrictions that will only release keys within certain time windows or for certain durations, or both. Dual and Triple user access is also another unique feature of the KeyWatcher that requires two or three users to insert their codes before certain high priority keys can be released

SmartKeys are individually locked in a hi-tech, sophisticated, wall-mounted key storage cabinet. It's designed to provide you with total accountability and control over your facility's keys within a secure environment. KeyWatcher records the access history of each key and user. In seconds you'll know to whom the key was released. There's no more guessing where it might be. KeyWatcher eliminates the paper chase created by outdated manual logs and when a key is missing or overdue, a pulsing beep will emanate from the key storage cabinet and at the host PC, alerting security personnel of the situation. You may program KeyWatcher's via its built-in keypad and LCD or via Morse Watchmans' Key-Pro Performance Software. Key-Pro greatly enhances the capabilities of KeyWatcher providing extensive key management reporting options, centralised programming and monitoring, advanced LAN and WAN capabilities, improved system communication and detailed transaction reporting and real-time polling.

Keywatch Systems Queensland will assist you in setting up your KeyWatcher system with additional functionality, such as individual time zones for removing keys within specific time windows or for predetermined durations. We will also setup email alerts in the event of alarms or even SMS messaging for system breaches like system alarms, loss of power or battery, forced or illegal entry, overdue keys and keypad hacking. KeyWatcher is supplied in two standard type cabinets; a 48-key capacity cabinet and a 96-key capacity cabinet. Both style cabinets can be expanded by simply adding other cabinets (slaves) Or, you can install a 96-key capacity cabinet but configured with as little as 16 keys to allow future growth and expansion of your key requirements within the original cabinet.

Alternatively, you can install a 96-key system fully configured and add on cabinets as required for up to 2000 keys. If your facility does not provide for central access to keys but instead requires remote or satellite cabinets around your facility then all these systems can be networked, accessed and polled from the one or multiple Key-Pro software packages.

You can instantly conduct an audit report for any key on any date at any time to quickly identify who was driving the car at that time. With KeyWatcher and Key-Pro you can determine exactly who had the vehicle if it is returned damaged and also who was responsible for the parking ticket or other traffic infringements! It can even be configured to indicate where a vehicle is located or parked on a lot or carpark. Certain users can be granted access to allvehicles whilst others may be restricted to a limitedrange of vehicles depending on their authorisation or licence type.
